We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team in Nairobi Kenya. As a Carpenter you will be responsible for constructing repairing and maintaining wooden structures and fixtures throughout our facility. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the quality and functionality of our wooden installations.
- Construct install and repair wooden structures fixtures and furniture
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and materials required
- Measure cut shape and assemble wood components using various hand and power tools
- Install doors windows moldings and other wooden fixtures
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on existing wooden structures
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to complete projects efficiently
- Ensure compliance with building codes safety regulations and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Conduct regular inspections of wooden structures to identify and address potential issues
- Assist in inventory management of materials and tools
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients or facility users
- Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs
Qualifications :
- Certificate/ Diploma in Carpentry or related field (advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years of handson experience as a Carpenter
- Proficiency in using hand tools power tools and woodworking machines
- Strong knowledge of various wood types their properties and appropriate applications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to perform the duties of the job
- Strong math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- Knowledge of building codes safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong communication skills in English both verbal and written
- Flexibility to work extended hours including evenings and weekends as required
- Basic computer literacy for recordkeeping and communication purposes
