Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
Updates and maintains the Quality Management System
Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
Interprets quality philosophy to key personnel in organization.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection testing and evaluation.
Plans and oversees the analysis inspection design test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or components.
Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Decides whether to accept a product or continue business with a vendor
Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials facilities and products.
Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
Develop apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for development and manufactured products.
Serve as the primary Quality Assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification resolution loss reporting and continuous improvement.
Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
Design and implement methods for process control process improvement testing and inspection. Promote and execute quality standards inspection processes test methodology quality plans documents and reports. Develop and execute corrective/preventative actions.
Review customer purchase orders contracts change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans. Establish supplier quality requirements.
Develop execute and analyze quality reporting measures.
Conducts internal and external quality audits.
Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and ensure that corrective action is implemented.
Prepare Production Port Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
Serve as the Quality Assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB).
Compile write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise 26 hourly Quality Auditors and Lab Technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree in engineering or equivalent
5 years of quality experience
