Sample Management Technician

This individual will support Sample Management for our Professional Scientific Services group in the Gaithersburg MD area.

Scientist responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• The candidate will be primarily responsible for the receipt storage inventory and distribution of samples and standards for analytical testing utilizing computerbased asset management systems.
• Prepares aliquots of samples and labels using automated systems.
• Review documentation to ensure completeness of paperwork submission. She/he/they will also be responsible for the organization and maintenance of environmental chambers and ensure that samples are stored in appropriate temperature conditions.
• Candidate must have excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Candidate will need to interact with other team members from different departments to address their concerns answer their questions and assist them with their needs.
• The candidate will complete and document activities following established sitespecific GxP SOP and protocols.
• Recognizes any deviations from project guidelines determines appropriate course of action and notifies applicable personnel.
• Applicants must be willing to work around and handle unknown health risk material in a Biosafety level 2/3 Environment.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate would possess:

• Experience in customer service
• Experience with receipt storage inventory and distribution of samples for analytical testing
• Experience with labeling and distribution of reference standards
• Experience maintaining environmental chambers
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Experience with data management is preferred
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team selfmotivation adaptability and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new techniques perform multiple tasks simultaneously keep accurate records follow instructions and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree with experience or a Bachelors Degree in a related field 
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information :

The position is fulltime Monday Friday 8:00 am5:00 pm.  Candidates living within a commutable distance of Gaithersburg MD are encouraged to apply.
