As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts reporting and analysis working to a detailed timetable.
This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm offering a competitive salary and package and the opportunity to work with a forward thinking market leader.
Key Duties of an Assistant Accountant:
- Calculate various monthly accruals and prepayments
- Prepare journals and key onto SAP
- Reconciliation of various P&L costs on a monthly basis and compare estimate with amount charged to accounts
- Assist with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet headings
- Review of Goods Received not invoiced accrual and review of parked invoices for accrual
- Complete various weekly and monthly reports across the business as required
- Weekly posting of bank transactions and bank statements onto SAP
- Undertake Bank reconciliation
- Post petty cash
- Prepare VAT returns detail on a monthly basis and undertake reconciliation
- Update various working sheets for utilities etc.
- Undertake Headcount analysis
- Prepare a backup for sales invoicing as necessary
- Ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications :
To apply for the role of Assistant Accountant you will possess the following skills:
- To be professional and able to operate as a team player or individually as necessary
- Be confident in communicating and dealing with people on the telephone/in person/by mail at all levels both internally with colleagues and external to the business
- Ability to work effectively and without direct supervision
- Conscientious and reliable
- Flexible attitude and methodical approach to work/training/working hours
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
- Be proactive and able to make decisions
- To be a fully computer literate particularly an experienced Microsoft Excel user
- Ideally have experience on Accounts and Accounting software packages such as SAP ROSS
