Job Description
Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Type: Contract
Location: Parsippany NJ
Position Summary
- Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) the LPN provides effective nursing care to achieve positive outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Operates within the scope defined by the State Nurse Practice Act contributing to nursing assessments care planning and supervising unlicensed staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Evaluation and Care Planning
- Collect and report patient data.
- Contribute to setting and evaluating patient goals.
- Direct Patient Care
- Administer medications and treatments as per orders.
- Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions to RNs or physicians.
- Supervision of Unlicensed Staff
- Assign and monitor tasks according to policies and state regulations.
- Other Duties
- Assist in physician rounds perform drug counts and ensure smooth shifttoshift communication.
- Maintain confidentiality and promote safety and team collaboration.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Includes frequent standing walking lifting up to 40 lbs and occasional stressrelated situations.
- Majority of the work is indoors with some exposure to noise odors and other environmental factors.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing program and licensed by the State Board of Nursing.
- Experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification required.
