Our client is the leading selfstorage operator in Spain and is seeking a Head of Facilities to define and execute the departments strategy across all sites (4 countries) to ensure optimal facility operations and continuously improve Facility Management protocols to ensure exceptional service.
Tasks
- Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans for facilities across 4 countries covering roofs electrical systems doors elevators security systems fire detection and suppression systems etc. while streamlining supplier selection to ensure unified and optimized services in each country
- Lead and manage the internal FM team (5 people) while coordinating subcontracted staff
- Define and implement the departments strategy structure and management model while coordinating with other company departments (Operations & Finance)
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers
- Negotiate and renegotiate general maintenance contracts and budgets
- Manage and control the annual budget (preventive corrective and utility costs)
- Plan organize and ensure the proper functioning of security and access systems across all facilities
- Plan and monitor energy usage at all locations
- Active participation in the opening of new centers
- Preparation of reports on budget status supplier statistics response time monitoring etc. with the aim of generating internal satisfaction indicators
- Be available for 24/7 oncall support
Requirements
- Native level of Spanish and professional level of English
- Knowledge of French/Italian/Portuguese is a plus
- A degree in a technical field (Industrial Engineering Technical Architecture or similar) is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience in Facility Management within an international and multisite management company
- Prior experience in team management is mandatory
- Proven ability in supplier relations and negotiations
- Ability to travel regularly to various sites (national & international) for onsite supervision and familiarity with facilities
- Strong analytical and planning skills with a problemsolving attitude
- Excellent negotiation abilities
- Proactive approach with the ability to lead projects and manage teams including subcontractors and suppliers
