This caregiver must be responsible for providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals who require assistance with daily living activities due to age disability illness or injury.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the physical emotional and mental wellbeing of the patient under your care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with activities of daily living including personal hygiene grooming dressing and mobility.
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document the administration accurately.
Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals by engaging in conversation activities and recreational outings.
Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning laundry and tidying up living spaces.
Transport individuals to medical appointments errands and social engagements.
Monitor and report any changes in the individuals physical or mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals or family members.
Maintain accurate records of care provided including daily activities health status and medication administration.
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the individual.
Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay updated on caregiving techniques best practices and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in caregiving or healthcare is preferred.
Prior experience as a caregiver or in a related field is highly desirable.
Ability to provide compassionate and respectful care to individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals family members and healthcare professionals.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift carry and assist patients with mobility limitations.
Reliable transportation and a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
Working Conditions:
This caregiver position may involve working irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays to provide 24/7 care for individuals. This caregiver may work in private residences group homes assisted living facilities or healthcare institutions depending on the needs of the patient.
