Job Description

The role of Career Coach is an excellent opportunity to work within the local community across a new national green skills and employability project funded by Shell. Reporting to the Operations Manager and working alongside an experienced employability team you will support service users to progress into apprenticeships employment education and training opportunities on their journey into Net Zero Careers.

About You

  • An experienced Career Coach who works within local communities to support service users to progress into apprenticeships employment education and training opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communicative skills with the ability to develop strong rapport with referral partners customers training providers employers and participants.
  • Approachable adaptable and supportive to the range of stakeholders involved in this programme.
  • A positive enthusiastic approach to problem solving and a can do attitude.
  • Great organisational administrative and prioritisation skills with the ability to work to deadlines produce reports and deliver on objectives.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

  • Inducting assessing and onboarding participants delivering high quality end to end information advice and guidance.
  • Promoting and developing the mindset emotional intelligence selfconfidence and esteem of participants so that they are better equipped and succeed in the world of work.
  • Preparing CVs cover letters and job/apprenticeship application forms with participants and undertaking job searches using relevant webbased software and packages.
  • Short listing preselecting and matching/submitting participants to vacancies/work experience opportunities generated by the Catch22 account management team and preparing job packs on specific vacancies/work experience opportunities.
  • Introducing participants to a strength based recruitment approach to succeeding in job interviews preparing them to a high standard for interview with employers and arranging interviews for participants where appropriate.
  • Engaging and maintaining regular contact with participants at agreed intervals to ensure that they sustain their job or apprenticeship and delivering high quality In Work Support which effectively sustains participants for a minimum of six months.
  • Supporting with the delivery of any Job Fairs Workshops and Seminars both face to face and remote that prepare participants ready for the world of work.

Qualifications :

  • Experience of coaching and delivering services within the Employability sector
  • Desirable: qualification in IAG (L3) ERS (L3) Coaching
  • Experience and knowledge of strength based recruitment


Additional Information :

Salary: 28000 per annum
Hours of work: Full time 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent 
Flexibility: Hybrid working office based work and outreach work across Manchester & NW with opportunities for remote working

*Some evening and weekend working may occasionally be required.
*Interviews will take place in March 2025.
