Job Description

Are you a passionate and skilled pastry chef looking for an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your creativity and expertise in a prestigious 5star hotel Join our talented pastry team at Sofitel London St James.

As a Pastry Chef de Partie you will be responsible for creating exceptional pastries and decadent desserts for the Rose Lounge Events Bistrot InRoom Dining and the St James Bar as well as curating special amenities for Guest rooms.

Showcasing your exceptional skills and meticulous attention to detail you will ensure our pastry menus are delivered to the highest standards. You will take immense pride in your work and demonstrate unwavering composure in our highpressure kitchen environment.

You will have the opportunity to refine your skills in pastry techniques and stay abreast of the latest innovations in the field all while benefiting from significant personal and professional growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to develop innovative and exquisite pastry creations.
  • Oversee daily preparation and production of pastries desserts and baked goods.
  • Ensure adherence to rigorous standards of hygiene cleanliness and food safety to guarantee the highest quality and freshness.
  • Contribute to menu planning and special event preparations with creative and exceptional ideas.
  • Enhance efficiency in kitchen operations while maintaining our unwavering commitment to excellence ensuring that every aspect of our pastry production meets the highest standards.

Qualifications :

  • Extensive experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or in a comparable role within a prestigious culinary establishment.

  • Demonstrable creative flair and a profound understanding of flavour pairings and presentation techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in various pastry techniques including intricate decoration and plating.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the capacity to excel in a dynamic highpressure kitchen environment.
  • A culinary degree or relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
