Job Description
To start with the position of R&D Pilot Plant Technician sits comfortably in the R&D Pilot Plant Team. This team is responsible for the management operation and maintenance of the Utrecht and Joure R&D Pilot Plants. An incredibly diverse team that helps each other learn grow and develop. Just how we like it! As an R&D Pilot Plant technician you will be responsible for maintaining and improving the safety sustainability and reliability of the machines in our Utrecht facility. The equipment is a wide range of process technologies including roasting grinding extraction and packaging of coffee and dairy ingredients into different formats. As a Pilot Plant Technician you are responsible for carrying out major and minor maintenance activities but also support your R&D colleges with your technical knowledge. For this we dont just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that youll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:
- Ensuring the technical availability of equipment in the Pilot Plant by quickly and correctly performing planned and corrective maintenance in the mechanical electrical and electronic field.
- Daytoday safe operation in the pilot plant follow standard operating procedures cleaning process equipment checking and preparing equipment ahead of the next trial.
- Plan and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure that key equipment is available for project teams.
- Support building prototypes equipment using workshop tools and designing technical solutions
- Support external contractors during installation works to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications :
We are looking for someone with experience in the maintenance of complex machines and installations with a drive for excellence. Someone that holds themselves accountable and doesnt shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role we feel its important for you to have a technical education as well as good interpersonal skills. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of must haves however thats not how we view your candidacy. We do of course take into consideration how much experience you have in the food industry and your ability to work independently but ultimately we look at the bigger picture. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role well share our nice to have list with you:
- Experience in mechanical and/or electrical equipment maintenance within the food or consumer goods industry with a strong ability to work handson in a workshop environment
- Technical knowledge and practical experience of hydraulics pneumatics and process technology.
- Machine shop expertise capable of operating standard workshop tools.
- Experienced usage of Microsoft Office tools
- Basic level in English language
- MBO level technical education
