The role
Sedex is looking for a skilled and strategic Finance Manager to join our team. In this role you will take charge of our key finance processes with a focus on managing the monthend and yearend for the global consolidated group. You will be responsible for driving system improvements and inputting on global finance projects as we create a futurefit finance function in a fast growing business. This role demands a combination of strategic insight technical proficiency and handson execution to deliver impactful change across the business.
In this fastpaced and dynamic environment your ability to be proactive detailoriented and an independent selfstarter will be key to success. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a broad and impactful role.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee all financial operations including monthend and yearend close processes.
- Prepare and present accurate monthly and annual financial reports ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to support business growth.
Technical Accounting & Compliance:
- Ensure strong technical accounting controls and adherence to IFRS and UK GAAP standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit processes effectively.
- Consolidate all subsidiaries worldwide and work with global accounting and tax partners to monitor compliance around the world.
- Stay updated on financial regulations and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
Process Improvement & Systems Management:
- Drive system improvements and automation to enhance financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to optimize operations.
- Identify opportunities for streamlining financial workflows and enhancing data accuracy.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Mentor and coach junior finance team members providing training and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and highperformance finance team culture.
- Support crossfunctional teams by providing financial insights and guidance.
Tax & Payroll Management:
- Oversee global payroll processing ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage corporate tax filings VAT returns and other tax obligations alongside contributing to tax projects.
- Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure compliance and optimize tax planning strategies.
- Ensure payroll systems and processes are efficient and align with company policies.
Knowledge Skills & Experience:
- ACA/ACCA qualified with training from a Big4 or top10 audit firm and strong technical accounting expertise.
- 12 years of experience in a fast growing business a private equitybacked technology business is preferred but not required.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Proven ability to work independently take initiative and solve problems proactively.
- Experience in managing and coaching junior team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Certinia Salesforce and process improvement initiatives is a plus.
