The Applications Engineer works closely with the Sales team as the primary technical product support interface to our external and internal customers by supporting the selection of the right products/solutions for an application. As a Drive Systems Applications Engineer you will primarily be focused on Hagglunds Drive System (HD) products. In this role you will:
- Interpret customer specifications make specific product recommendations and assist with selection of products/solutions.
- Work with both the Sales team and Customers to help ensure that the hydraulic drives hydraulic motors and controls are successfully applied/implemented to best fit the customers requirements.
- Assist in technical analysis of machine and application requirements and select best suitable products/solutions (sizing selecting applying handson support).
- Provide support for drive unit control and provide startup assistance to service team.
- Determine suitable replacements for components that have become obsolete or have long leadtimes.
- Support nonstandard requests for power units.
- Participate in customer visits to confirm solutions and scope of supply as requested.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a technical field (Mechanical Industrial Electrical etc) and minimum of 3 years experience with hydraulic systems or power transmission applications.
- Customer facing experience providing technical support
- Effective communication and presentation skills both written and verbal dependable and a positive attitude and responsiveness toward customers.
- Entrepreneurial driven mindset.
- Experience in using 2D and 3D software.
- Travel Requirement: Average of 20%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Hagglunds technology.
- Prior work experience in one of the following industry segments (Mining Recycling Chemical Material Handling Marine & Offshore Rubber & Plastics Pulp & Paper).
- Experience with control systems (e.g. PLC machine control systems).
- Applying and using fieldbus connections in control systems (e.g. PLCs PACs etc.) with industrial protocols (e.g. PROFINET Ethernet/IP Modbus TCP CAN bus).
