What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director of Operations the successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the Rooms Division overseeing the strategic development of Front Office Fairmont Gold Housekeeping Health Club Guest Services and Concierge.
Leadership & Strategy
- Actively participate as an Executive Committee member committed to the ongoing development of the leadership group
- Involved in the development and execution of the hotelwide fiveyear strategic plan
- Oversee the operation and coordination of the operating departments through their respective department heads
- Ensure effective leadership training development and performance management of department heads and colleagues
- Establish and monitor effective goals and measurements for the division in all areas (VOG LQA SAQ EES GOP H&S Sustainability)
- Oversee employee and leader planning recruitment selection and development through goal development and coaching (LEAD program)
- Build and maintain employee relationships conduct monthly communication meetings and manage a related leadership succession plan
- Ensure timely recognition for teams and participate in organizing divisional and hotel recognition events
Financial Management
- Ensure monthly financial outlooks and results for the Rooms Division are accurate
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual Rooms budget considering revenue costs productivity and efficiency
- Actively participate in the Revenue Management process ensuring rooms revenue is maximized to achieve financial success (RevPar and GOP)
Operational Excellence & Guest Experience
- Maintain divisional efficiency and productivity balancing cost control with essential guest services
- Coordinate continuous improvement in workplace Health & Safety including WCB fire safety emergency procedures and management of the BCP process
- Oversee the Loss Prevention and Safety department
- Handle all guest concerns and ensure effective followup to ensure a flawless guest experience
- Ensure that minimum standards of guest service are implemented and enhanced according to Fairmont and LQA International standards
- Provide proactive sincere service through an engaged and empowered workforce committed to creating a memorable experience
Sustainability & Innovation
- Ensure existing environmental initiatives are adhered to and implement new and innovative environmental opportunities
Crisis Management
- Responsible for Crisis management and BCP plans for the division as a member of the hotel crisis management team
Development & Training
- Oversee the development and ongoing revision of Rooms Division training programs
- Ensure all department heads are following the training development and performance management protocols
- Recruit select and train department heads effectively to meet the needs of the division
Renovation Projects & Networking:
- Serve as the hotel representative for all major Room renovation projects
- Network within the industry staying current on future trends and opportunities
Qualifications :
To excel in this role were looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Rooms Division with a background as a Department Head or Division Head
- A university degree in Hotel Management or a related discipline is highly preferred
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to assess data and trends to formulate effective strategies for improvement
- Resultsdriven with a flexible approach and the ability to perform well under pressure
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills fostering collaboration and positive relationships
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to guide colleagues toward consistently achieving goals
- A track record of developing and mentoring colleagues helping them reach their full potential
- Highly organized goaloriented and driven by results
- A positive engaging attitude that contributes to a fun and supportive workplace culture
- Creative thinking strong planning abilities and the capacity to think outside the box while maintaining focus on key objectives
- Flexibility to work weekends evenings holidays and special events as required
