Job Description

Project Description

The goal of this activity is to provide support to governmentled education systems to strengthen these and incentivize greater ownership of and investment in the education sector by the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (GRSS) to help strengthen the social contract and build functioning education institutions to enable future development.

Position Description

The Behavior Change & Policy Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing communitybased behavior change interventions that improve education access attendance and retention particularly for girls and children with disabilities. The role will also focus on shaping national education policies that support equitable education and social norm transformation. The Lead will collaborate with the Ministry of Education civil society organizations and donors to promote evidencebased approaches to gender equality disability inclusion and community engagement in education.

 

This position is contingent upon award by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office of the Government of the United Kingdom.


Qualifications :

Education:

  • A minimum of a masters degree in social and behavior change education public policy sociology gender studies or a related field.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in behavior change communication policy advocacy or community engagement preferably in education and fragile/conflictaffected settings.
  • Proven expertise in gendersensitive programming disability inclusion and community mobilization.
  • Strong understanding of education policy development and advocacy in South Sudan or similar contexts.
  • Experience working with government agencies donors and civil society organizations on education and social change initiatives.
  • Excellent strategic planning stakeholder engagement and capacitybuilding skills.
  • Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.

Language:

Fluency in oral and written English is required.
