Job Description

General Responsibilities:

The Systems Engineering Manager is a multifaceted role requiring excellent organizational and communication skills as well as demonstrating indepth knowledge of BEUMER products policies and applications. The main responsibility of this position is to develop coach and manage the team to provide proposals for sales opportunities. Additionally a Systems Engineering Manager is the team lead responsible for evaluation of customer requirements development of innovative solutions participation in client meetings and calls collaboration with key personnel to ensure the success of system design and prepare technical documentation with cost estimation. The Manager provides guidance to the respective delivery team ensuring adherence to system engineering tools and processes while developing solutions.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to BEUMER process guidelines while leading and mentoring the systems engineering team to produce designs estimates and proposals in stipulated time frame.
  • Collaborate with internal and external parties to seek necessary inputs for proposal development.
  • Develop promote and collaborate on BEUMER tools used for proposal development
  • Manage continuous improvement of systems engineering process.
  • Manage ISO documentation process for all applicable Sales activities.
  • Identify and appropriately mitigate risk associated with the solutions estimates and proposals.  
  • Coordinates and collaborated with the respective Center of Competence (CoC) on day to day basis to ensure adherence to systems engineering processes guidelines and direction.
  • Prepare properly qualified and clarified conceptual budgets estimates and RFP responses based on minimal information.
  • Perform turnkey estimating duties from time of projects introduction through completion of sales process.
    • Take responsibility for correspondence with all involved parties including bid invitations requests for information addenda and scope of work clarifications.
    • Establish complete understanding of project scope of work related to the request for proposal (RFP) or request for information (RFI).
    • Evaluate and establish understanding to guide the team about requirements key risks objectives and mitigating strategies while working to develop proposals
    • Solicit accurate pricing from qualified subcontractors/vendors/suppliers to ensure adequate competitive coverage of each estimate line item
    • Organize project site visits if necessary to define scope and familiarity with the project
    • Define/confirm scope of work for each subcontractor/vendor/supplier and produce written scope sheet certified by same if other documentation of scope is not completely clear
    • Submit proposal in a professional manner and in timeframe and format required. Include scope of work clarifications document to clarify any relevant information not clarified in the bid documents.
    • Participate in meeting with internal and external stake holders of the project

 


Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in industrial Mechanical Electrical Engineering Logistics or supply chain (Masters degree preferred).
  • Preferred technical background with a management exposure.
  • Min 5 years of experience in technical or engineering team management with a focus on complex Cost estimating and Proposal Development
  • Excellent proficiency in all MS Office suite programs
  • Ability to travel both intercontinentally and internationally up to 40% of the time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize handle multiple tasks and work under pressure with the sense of both urgency and thoroughness.
  • Ambitious and find complex projects and situations challenging and motivational.
  • Selfmotivated trustworthy and respectful of others
  • Professional positive and have an energetic attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong active listening skills for customer satisfaction and technical insight
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals work collaboratively and care for team members.
