Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our Airport Division in Sydney Australia. In this critical role you will be responsible for designing implementing and maintaining advanced control systems that ensure the smooth and efficient operation of airport facilities.
- Understand customer requirements and translate those into programmatic design.
- Design and program machine control for all types of BEUMER & Non BEUMER systems using the BEUMER base &/or thirdparty machine control code.
- Prepare and test PLC hardware for projects.
- Understand electrical design drawings and specifications as they relate to machine control programming.
- Work with electrical engineering to define I/O network and addressing.
- Work with engineering in selection and test of peripheral equipment.
- Work with the PC software developers.
- Participate in inhouse testing at any BEUMER office of the machine control system.
- Prepare asbuilt documentation for every project.
- Participate in the onsite machine control commissioning.
- Participate in second tier software response line.
- Occasionally assist in the programming and debugging of PLC and HMI systems for the PP division.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely completion within budget constraints
- Stay uptodate with the latest industry trends and technologies in airport control systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards in all project phases
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in the team fostering their professional development
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Control Systems Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in controls engineering with a focus on largescale infrastructure projects
- Advanced knowledge of control systems and automation technologies
- Proficiency in PLC programming
- Strong familiarity with airport systems and operations
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues
- Proven project management abilities including experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in CAD software for system design and documentation
- Indepth knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to airport environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional nights and weekends to accommodate airport operations
