The Registered RN/RPN Foot Care Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the quality of Foot Care services to clients in the community and facility setting is compliant with legislation and standards of practice.
- Leads a team of Foot Care Nurses to provide and maintain efficient quality Foot Care to clients in a facility and home setting
- Assess client needs formulates the plan of care and assesses progress towards outcomes
- Identifies learning needs of staff and collaborates with Human Resources and other internal experts to prepare content
- Motivates directs and coaches staff to ensure high quality of care that consistently meets defined organizational standards
- Responsible for the direct supervision of Foot Care Nurses conducting performance appraisals and implementing progressive disciplinary action
- Ensures that all client concerns and complaints are addressed and documented in a timely manner
- Routinely hold team meetings with Foot Care nurses to discuss changes within the program and address concerns as needed
- Collaborate with the Foot Care Coordinator in regards to the scheduling of the Foot Care Nurses as well as overseeing all facility schedules
- Complete inventory checks on all supplies for Foot Care and order if required
- Assist Foot Care Nurses in clinics/private settings where appropriate
Qualifications :
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse with the CNO
- Basic Advanced and Diabetes Foot Care Certificates
- Knowledge of College of Nurses (CNO) Foot Care Guidelines and Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Foot Care Best Practice Guidelines
- Minimum of three years of experience with progressive leadership responsibilities as a direct supervisor preferably in a community setting
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format
- Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle (Extensive local travel is required to ensure contact with Foot Care Nurses on a routine basis and provide Foot Care services to clients as required)
- Solid Foot Care knowledge of the principles practices and methods of community nursing and service delivery to clients as well as program development implementation and evaluation
