Job Description
- Evaluating data sensitivity and selecting appropriate encryption algorithms and key management strategies based on business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Designing encryption solutions for various database platforms (e.g. Oracle SQL Server NoSQL) including key rotation and lifecycle management.
- Implementing encryption techniques within databases including fieldlevel encryption transparent data encryption (TDE) and applicationlevel encryption.
- Integrating encryption with existing data pipelines and applications to ensure seamless data flow while maintaining security.
- Managing encryption keys securely using dedicated key management systems (KMS).
- Implementing key access controls and audit trails to monitor key usage and prevent unauthorized access.
- Actively monitoring encryption systems for potential vulnerabilities and anomalies.
- Performing regular security audits to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA).
- Working closely with database administrators application developers and security teams to integrate encryption seamlessly into new and existing systems.
- Providing technical guidance on data encryption best practices and troubleshooting issues related to encryption implementation.
