Job Description

We are seeking experienced Pharmacists for the VA Health Care System. This position includes both (1) Inpatient and (1)Outpatient Pharmacy roles supporting Veterans by providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services. The pharmacist will ensure medication safety conduct patient consultations and work closely with healthcare teams to optimize patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient use.
  • Conduct medication therapy management and provide patient counseling.
  • Manage controlled substances and ensure compliance with VA regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust medication plans.
  • Oversee medication preparation compounding and administration protocols.
  • Document all pharmaceutical activities in VISTA/CPRS electronic medical records.
  • Provide drug information and training to pharmacy staff and healthcare teams.
  • Maintain compliance with all VA policies state and federal laws and pharmacy best practices.

Schedule:

  • 40hour workweek with 8hour shifts including day evening night weekend and holiday rotations as needed.


Requirements

  • Licensure:
    • Active unrestricted Pharmacist License in any U.S. State Territory or the District of Columbia.
  • Education:
    • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college with a BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient pharmacy setting (VA experience preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Knowledge of VISTA/CPRS electronic medical record systems.
    • Experience with medication reconciliation sterile and nonsterile compounding and controlled substance handling.
  • Other Requirements:
    • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Holder.

    Compensation Details:

    • Hourly Pay Rate (Taxable): $33.00/hour
    • Overtime Pay Rate (Taxable): $49.50/hour
    • Weekly Travel Stipends (NonTaxable for Eligible Travelers): Up to $980.00
    • Total Weekly Gross Package: $2300.00
    • Estimated Total Contract Package (52 Weeks): $119600.00
