The opportunity:
The Director of Media and Growth is a strategic leader who balances shortterm performance marketing objectives with longterm brandbuilding initiatives to drive customer acquisition retention and overall business growth. This role oversees media strategy planning execution and optimization across RCLs three brands: Reitmans Penningtons and RW&CO. The individual will lead the internal media team leveraging datadriven insights and innovative approaches to deliver measurable results while fostering deeper connections with customers and enhancing brand equity.
This position requires a visionary thinker who understands the evolving media landscape prioritizes collaboration across teams and continuously seeks opportunities to innovate and scale impact.
Responsabilities:
Media Strategy & Growth Leadership
- Develop and execute integrated media strategies that align performance marketing and brandbuilding efforts across all banners.
- Drive customer growth through innovative campaigns that focus on acquisition retention and lifetime value.
- Lead omnichannel media planning including digital social traditional and emerging platforms to ensure a holistic approach to growth and brand awareness.
- Identify and evaluate new media channels ad formats and technologies to drive incremental growth and innovation.
Performance Optimization & Brand Building
- Balance media investments to achieve both shortterm ROI and longterm brand equity goals.
- Oversee media performance ensuring campaigns meet key performance indicators such as ROAS customer acquisition cost (CAC) and engagement metrics.
- Champion brand storytelling and emotional connections through upperfunnel media campaigns including video influencer marketing and partnerships.
DataDriven Decision Making
- Use advanced analytics to inform media planning and optimize campaign performance.
- Collaborate with the CRM loyalty and analytics teams to leverage customer data for personalized and predictive media strategies.
- Establish robust measurement frameworks to track campaign performance and link media investments to business outcomes like retention lifetime value and brand growth.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead coach and develop a highperforming internal media team to execute with excellence and agility.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with brand marketing CRM loyalty ecommerce digital product and creative teams to align media strategies with broader business objectives.
- Partner with external agencies and technology providers to fill gaps scale capabilities and bring specialized expertise where needed.
Innovation & Testing
- Implement a testandlearn framework to pilot new media strategies and continuously improve performance.
- Drive innovation by exploring new ad formats channels and audience engagement tactics (e.g. shoppable videos geotargeted campaigns AR/VR experiences).
- Stay ahead of industry trends and adapt strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Qualifications :
What Sets You Apart:
Education
- University degree in Business Marketing ECommerce or a related field. Masters degree is an asset.
Experience
- 810 years of experience in media strategy planning and execution with a proven track record of driving both performance and brandbuilding outcomes.
- Expertise in digital advertising channels (SEM paid social programmatic video) and traditional media.
- Strong understanding of customer acquisition strategies loyalty programs and lifecycle marketing.
- Experience managing highperforming teams and working crossfunctionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ad technologies analytics tools and media platforms (e.g. Google Analytics DSPs Marketing Cloud).
