Are you ready to inspire empower and support project teams to shape the future of water infrastructure
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Delivery Excellence Director to lead and inspire our project and framework delivery teams within the Water UK&I division. This pivotal role will bridge technical excellence strategic growth and operational performance driving both internal improvements and external client success.
At AECOM were at the forefront of innovation delivering exceptional water programmes and projects through longterm partnerships with major UK water companies and international clients.
Heres what youll do:
People Leadership Project & Framework Communities:
- Establish develop and mentor Project Director/Approver (PD/PA) Project Management (PM) and Framework Management (FW) communities.
- Define and implement our approach to project management including setting out clear roles and responsibilities for project and framework team members.
- Ensure and assign PMs to projects that are appropriately experienced and qualified for the complexity of the project being delivered.
- Ensure teams are skilled resourced appropriately and supported with coaching mentoring and training.
- Foster professional development through internal training programs and external certifications like PMP.
- Drive consistency in project set up sign off (Go / No Go) and delivery through best practice sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Active engagement with our clients to ensure we are delivering projects that meet or exceed their expectations.
- Cultivate a clientcentric culture promoting client satisfaction and continuous feedback via Net Promoter Scores and direct client interactions.
- Support business growth through strong client relationships successful project delivery and active involvement in major bids.
- Champion lessons learned from client feedback to enhance service delivery and improve consistency of our project delivery.
Project & Framework Excellence:
- Lead monthly project and portfolio clinics / project reviews to proactively identify and resolve issues such as resourcing managing change mitigating risks etc.
- Implement predictive analysis and datadriven insights to improve project performance.
- Drive robust risk management scope control and financial performance monitoring including Earned Value Management (EVM) where appropriate and ensuring that we are meeting business project update cycle dates and accuracy.
- Ensure projects and frameworks are effectively set up operated and aligned with strategic goals.
Performance Measurement:
- Maintain strong client satisfaction scores and positive feedback.
- Deliver projects on time within budget and to the highest quality standards with minimal writedowns.
- Support growth targets across frameworks and improve project margin trends.

- Proven leadership in project and framework management within the water or energy sectors.
- Strong strategic thinking operational insight networking and client relationship skills.
- Expertise in coaching mentoring and developing highperforming teams.
- Strong analytical skills along with experience in developing and implementing strategies.
- Solid understanding of project controls risk management and financial performance metrics.
- Exceptional communication stakeholder engagement and change management abilities.
