Step into the role of Data Engineer with a forwardthinking group of companies in Larnaca where you will play a crucial role in designing building and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that support their forex and hospitality operations. Responsibilities:
- Data Pipeline Development:
- Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest process and store data from various sources including forex trading platforms and hospitality management systems.
- Implement ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes to ensure data is clean accurate and readily available for analysis.
- Data Architecture:
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to design and optimize data models that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with best practices and meets the needs of both forex and hospitality operations..
- Data Quality and Governance:
- Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance policies to maintain the integrity and reliability of data.
- Monitor data pipelines for performance and reliability troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Collaboration with CrossFunctional Teams:
- Work closely with data scientists analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members on datarelated projects.
- Performance Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for performance improvements in data processing and storage implementing best practices for optimization.
- Utilize cloud technologies and big data tools to enhance data processing capabilities.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines architectures and processes.
- Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into forex and hospitality data trends and performance metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science Data Science Information Technology or Similar.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role preferably within the forex or hospitality industries.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Java or Scala.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g. Amazon Redshift Google Big Query) and ETL tools (e.g. Apache NiFi Talend).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud).
- Understanding of data modelling concepts and best practices.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
