Job Summary The Stroke Center Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining SJMC Stroke Center Program. This role is also responsible for providing; fiscal staff and leadership accountabilities within department.
STROKE CENTER COORDINATOR
- CLINICAL & STRETEGIC MANAGEMENT: Develops and maintains the SJMC Stroke Center program creates an infrastructure which employs an interdisciplinary approach and defines and maintains the Scope of Services for the Stroke program. Assesses current status of TIA and Stroke care and recommends evidencebased changes in TIA and Stroke care. Ensures TIA and Stroke care is practiced and documented according to the clinical standards of SJMC and ensures a wellcoordinated and organized performance of care for TIA and Stroke patients. Collaborates with the director to continually monitor the level of professional practice within the medical center related to Stroke care and institutes actions or programs to ensure comprehensive patient care teamwork and professionalism. Directs the collection and retention of all SJMC TIA and Stroke data. Coordinates production of the Stroke Center program Annual Report timely to the deadline. Coordinates the JCAHO Primary Stroke Center and Certification and monitors for continued compliance for Certification.
- LEADERSHIP DUTIES: Takes responsibility for own actions holds self and others to high ethical and performance standards and continually strives to improve levels of individual team and organizational performance. Conducts and coordinates departmental inservices and meetings and serves as the liaison for Stroke Center Program with other departments. Assists with development of goals policies standards and plan of service for the department and coordinates activities relative to student affiliation programs as needed. Effectively leads through changes in the workplace and prepares and supports those affected by change. Provides regular and timely performance feedback; develops employees skills encourages growth and participates in the annual review process.
- TEAMWORK & FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Creates an environment that motivates superior performance and establishes collaborative relationships and networks to achieve objectives. Maintains and uses material supplies and equipment in a cost effective manner and contributes ideas for cost reductions or improved efficiency without sacrificing quality. Participates in the orientation and training of other healthcare team members and performs as a clinical instructor/preceptor when necessary. Supports a culture of excellence and contributes to providing quality cost effective services and contributes ideas for cost reductions or improved efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Education
- 4 year / Bachelors degree (Required)
- Masters Degree (Preferred)
Certification / Licensure / Registration
- *CPR Certification (Required)
- *State Registered Nurse License (Required)
- ACLS Certification (Preferred)
