Behavioral Health Specialist IRAQ

The Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist will provide psychotherapy counselling and support to individuals and groups dealing with emotional behavioral and social challenges at DOS/DOD facilities in Iraq.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnoses of mental health disorders and emotional issues using clinical interviews observations and standardized assessment tools. 
• Provide evidencebased therapeutic interventions tailored to clients needs including individual family and group therapy. 
• Respond to and manage acute crises providing immediate support and intervention as needed. 
• Educate clients and families about mental health issues treatment options and resources available. 
• Collaborate with healthcare providers including psychiatrists psychologists nurses and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans. 
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records including treatment plans progress notes and compliance with ethical and legal standards. 
• Engage in community service and outreach to promote awareness of mental health issues and available services.

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements/Certifications:  

• Current full active and unrestricted License. 
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) 
• 3 years recent experience including at least six months out of the past year. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).  
• Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred. 

Education Required: 

• Masters degree in social work or psychology from an accredited program. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Must meet predeployment physical requirements. 
• Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time. 
• May require bending stooping and lifting to 25 lbs. 

Other Special Qualifications: 

• US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.    
• Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.  
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.  
• Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project. 
• Must be able to read write and speak English to effectively communicate.

Additional Information :

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicants background experience skills internal equity and alignment with geographical market data. 

Compensation  Min: $25hr        Max: $35hr
