Job Description
Our client in the heart of the Bovlei Upper valley winegrowing district just outside Wellington enjoys a special interaction between diverse soils slopes and climate contributing to the farming of consistently high quality superpremium wines in a very South African style.
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Winery Manager to oversee the operations of their vineyard and winery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in winemaking farm management and facility maintenance as well as a passion for upholding the quality and reputation of their wine products. This is an onsite position requiring residency at the winery farm.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Winery Manager or a similar role in the winemaking industry.
- Strong knowledge of winemaking processes and vineyard management.
- Strong knowledge of vineyard management including maintenance of plantations and farming techniques.
- Ability to maintain and replicate the unique taste and style of wine products.
- Proficiency in managing vineyard and winery facilities.
- Excellent problemsolving organizational and communication skills.
- Handson approach and willingness to take initiative.
- Willingness to reside onsite at the wine farm.
- Commitment to maintaining the farms high standards and traditions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the winemaking process ensuring the consistency and quality of existing wine products.
- Maintain the established taste and style of our wines.
- Monitor the fermentation process and ensure proper aging blending and bottling techniques.
- Implement quality control standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage daytoday operations of the wine farm including vineyard maintenance and seasonal activities.
- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of winery buildings equipment and facilities.
- Plan and supervise plantation activities such as pruning irrigation and pest management.
- Ensure the health and productivity of vineyards to achieve highquality grape harvests.
- Maintain accurate records of farm and winery operations.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize operational efficiency and productivity.
- Supervise and train farm and winery staff as needed.
- Manage the budget and resources allocated for the farms operations.
