Job Description

Role Summary

The HR Manager role presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate with NBC News streaming service News NOW Digital Newsroom as well as its Editorial Units across a diverse spectrum of HR functions. This key role involves providing robust support to the business within a dynamic work environment. Additionally it entails partnering with the broader News HR team on overseeing crossportfolio initiatives special projects and driving employee engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the onsite HR partner and support resource for Digital Newsroom News NOW Editorial Units acting as the central point of contact for recruitment benefits payroll and employee relations matters
  • Lead and participate in critical HR initiatives such as staffing performance management organizational planning compensation planning and employee development
  • Gain an indepth understanding of client group dynamics and key business priorities to provide coaching to business leaders on effective organizational management and leadership
  • Assume a leadership role in resolving employee relations issues providing guidance to employees and managers throughout the process
  • Interpret and implement HR policies practices and procedures providing clarity and guidance on matters such as vacation parental leave etc
  • Manage the staffing process collaborating with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team to devise recruitment strategies and ensure diverse candidate slates and highquality candidate selection
  • Collaborate and partner with legal labor relations and finance to manage performance activities initiatives and budgets

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • 5 years of relevant HR partnering experience including recruiting performance management salary planning and organizational development

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable State and Federal employment laws and general business practices
  • Creative problem solver with a passion for HR strategy
  • Excellent problemsolving project management and presentation skills
  • Previous experience in the media digital tech or entertainment industry
  • Demonstrated employee relations skill set; ability to earn trust and credibility with employees
  • Proven track record of delivering results through effective project and process management
  • Solid business acumen analytical skills and clientsupport orientation
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring/leadership skills; change agent; results oriented
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Detailoriented organized with excellent followthrough
  • Ability to execute both strategic and tactical priorities effectively
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a diverse and fastpaced environment

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits including medical dental and vision insurance 401(k) paid leave tuition reimbursement and a variety of other discounts and perks.
