SCADA Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customer stakeholders to define the scope and requirements of Ignition solutions focusing on process improvements.
- Develop proprietary software tools for product development commissioning and R&D.
- Build and enhance Ignition solutions including:
- Industrial and HVAC applications.
- System networks (BACnet Modbus Ethernet IP integrations).
- Perspective and Vision user interfaces.
- Reporting alarm configuration and SQL database interactions.
- CSS and Pythonbased scripting.
- Create detailed pre and postproject documentation.
- Conduct thorough testing deployment and provide application support.
- Apply expertise across industries and manufacturing processes while collaborating with project teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Travel up to 30% for client meetings deployments and support.
Qualifications
Required:
- Proven experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA including Core Certification (Gold Certification is a plus).
- Skilled in Perspective and Vision development.
- Proficient in Python development including Ignitions Expression Language.
- Strong integration experience with PLCs Modbus and BACnet.
- Solid understanding of BAS and process plant controls.
- Ability to independently manage and execute Ignition projects from start to finish.
- Competent in reading electrical process control drawings and P&IDs.
- Functional understanding of mechanical systems.
- Strong SQL database knowledge (PostgreSQL MySQL SQLite Microsoft SQL Server MariaDB).
- Solid grasp of IT networks and controller communication protocols.
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering Controls Engineering Software Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Science.
- Experience with DDC controls Modbus and BACnet protocols.
- Familiarity with Tridium or other BAS control systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and SAML 2.0.
