Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist II to join our team. This role involves setting up adjusting and operating CNC and conventional machining equipment to produce precision parts according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting blueprints selecting appropriate tools and ensuring quality through precision measurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints engineering drawings and specifications.
- Select and set up tools machines and materials for machining operations.
- Align and secure fixtures cutting tools and workpieces on machines.
- Operate and adjust CNC machining centers as well as manual machines (Bridgeports lathes surface grinders).
- Machine parts according to documentation ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measurement tools.
- Maintain accurate records and inspection data.
- Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean organized work area.
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning and lubricating machines.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or irregular conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift push or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Regular standing bending reaching and movement throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- 25 years of machining experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in Gcode programming and CNC operation.
- Experience with CNC milling machines and manual lathes.
- Familiarity with converting 3D SolidWorks models via CAM software (preferred).
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
