Our Client a logistics and supply chain organization is seeking to hire Finance Officers (Graduate Trainee).
Job Summary
Responsible for administering all aspects of the accounting function including payroll processing for transmittal to the payroll service financial reporting and monthend close.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly quarterly and yearend closing activities.
- Provide inputs on weekly monthly and quarterly management reports to senior management
- Prepare a monthly reconciliation of all payments received on billing using the Billing reconciliation template.
- Prepare required journal entries after each inflow on the contract for recording deductions from the Invoice in line with payment received.
- Submit a monthly schedule of Trade and Other receivables aging analysis to ensure that all receivables are duly recovered.
- Assists in financial analysis of various business initiatives and performance (debtors and creditors schedule; fixed assets schedule)
- Prepares monthly closing accounts including GL journal entries
- Provide input on monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with all health safety and security regulations and policies.
- Liaise with the HSSEQ department on any health safety or security problem which you cannot resolve.
- Responsible for the health safety and welfare of all staff under direct management and expected to contribute to the health and safety of all personnel in the overall business unit.
- Comply with health and safety procedures and instructions.
- Keeping abreast of developments and changes in the field by reading pertinent journals attending meetings and courses.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced officers
Requirements
- A good University degree in Accounting or Finance
- A registered member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants is an added advantage
- Understanding of moderately complex accounting concepts and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS
- Computer applications (MS Office)
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
