By Pursuing Justice with Integrity the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice. By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large which continues to grow stronger every day.
In furtherance of this mission the BXDA seeks experienced and enthusiastic receptionists to greet and receive visitors and answer phone calls.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct visitors to the appropriate staff member and waiting area ensuring assistance is provided in a timely fashion.
Answer all calls at the front desk and redirect calls to appropriate staff members.
Notify Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) and professional staff of arrival of civilian and police witnesses and victims.
Keep accurate and complete records of all witnesses in the bureaus logbook.
Maintain daily Conference Room log sheet and schedule.
Notify ADAs about the arrival of Police Officer visitors and witnesses and direct them to appropriate waiting areas if necessary
Perform all other bureaurelated duties as needed and assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a States department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Qualifications :
1. There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position. However the ability to understand and carry out simple instructions is required.
2. Candidates must be able to understand and be understood in English.
