We are looking for an experienced Test and Commissioning Engineer to join our growing T&C team serving our rail customers around Australia. This position involves ensuring the reliability safety and performance of rail systems by conducting thorough testing troubleshooting issues and collaborating with various teams to meet industry and operational standards.
Location: Preferred Melbourne Sydney or Perth candidate will be flexible with working location and be willing to enter a FIFO arrangement if required based on project demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine test plans procedures and reports to ensure comprehensive coverage of system functionality.
- Conduct and oversee static dynamic and integration testing for rolling stock in accordance with project requirements.
- Manage test execution to align with quality scheduling and cost objectives.
- Interpret test data and logs compile reports and present insights to relevant stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues discovered during testing in coordination with engineering teams and contractors.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test activities including NonConformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with thirdparty contractors to coordinate system interface tests.
- Ensure all Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and access permits comply with regulatory and company policies.
- Uphold compliance with technical procedural and health and safety requirements throughout the testing process.
- Act as a bridge between local engineering teams and global project divisions including safety testing and commissioning groups.
- Monitor project timelines identify risks and escalate issues proactively.
- Work closely with stakeholders to align resources and schedules for efficient test execution.
Skills & Competencies:
- Indepth understanding of railway systems with relevant experience in Testing and Commissioning.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and testing methodologies.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills to facilitate fault resolution.
- Familiarity with international railway standards (EN IEC IEEE etc.).
- Effective communication teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative highperformance and dynamic environment.
Qualifications :
- Degree in Engineering (Electronics or Electrical preferred).
- Experience in Test & Commissioning (T&C) or Verification & Validation (V&V) for rail or rolling stock systems.
- Working knowledge of safety protocols and railway operations.
- Preference for candidates based in Sydney Perth or Melbourne.
