Position how youll contribute
Digital is an exciting crossvertical practice within Oliver Wyman delivering worldclass applications to our clients to drive sustained business impact. As an engineer in OW Digital youll support highquality software solutions and contribute to architectural solutions across the full technology stack from database to analytics to web interfaces with a focus on backend work. Youll work in a closeknit team environment alongside other toptier talent in our development hubs in Dublin London Boston Sydney and other locations worldwide.
Qualifications :
Expectations the experience you need
- Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or Mathematics (with a computer science track) and 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Database Administration security file management backup/restore processes performance etc.
- Strong experience writing maintaining optimizing and troubleshooting SQL queries stored procedures etc.
- Strong experience with data engineering (Database Design Data ETL data management etc)
- Strong experience with Databricks.
- Exceptional experience debugging issues
- Experience working on cloud deployed solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
- Knowledge of algorithms data structures complexity.
- Comfortable working with and developing coding standards applies clean code and SOLID principles.
- Strong analysis documentation and communication skills.
- IT Service Management best practices: follows good ticket management / update process keeps tickets updated regularly.
- Strong timemanagement skills: comfortable with discussing and handling competing priorities
- Ability to timebox troubleshooting a conscientious sense of deadlines and knowing when to proactively escalate.
- Excellent client management skills: sets clear expectations and updates with external and internal clients.
- Ability to understand discrepancies between bugfixing configuration changes vs. Enhancements
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
- Comfortable working in a distributed team across time zones.
Additional skills the edge you have
- Experience with full stack development and practices
- Basic knowledge of HTML CSS and highperformance JavaScript
- Knowledge of further code stacks/frameworks: Python NoSQL .NET Docker AWS.
