Job Description
VHIR offers a vacancy for a PhD researcher to be involved in the synthesis and functional characterization of biodegradable and thermoresponsive hydrogels loaded with nanoparticles for the local and sustained multitherapy of Ovarian Cancer under the supervision of the doctors Diana Rafael and Fernanda Andrade at the Clinical Biochemistry Drug Delivery& Therapy group from VHIR.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in the field of Chemistry Biochemistry Pharmacy or similar field of biosciences
- Masters degree in the field of bioscience
- Fluency in English
Desired:
- Average grade of the student should be higher than 8 (both Bachelor and Master Degree)
- Languages: Fluency in Spanish English (professional level)
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 1 year of experience in laboratory work
- Knowledge about the synthesis and characterization of polymers hydrogels nanoparticles drug delivery in vitro studies cellular biology molecular biology techniques among others
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Desired:
- A record of previous publications conferences and other merits will be very valuable
- Knowledge about bioinformatic tools will be very valuable
- We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who has a proven handson approach flexible and adaptable. Additionally the following personal skills are desirable:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and Teamwork
- Proactivity (ability to work independently when necessary)
- Wellorganized and responsible person at work
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Development of a PhD thesis associated to awarded projects in hydrogels and drug delivery.
- Synthesis characterization and handling of different types of drug delivery materials (hydrogels and nanoparticles).
- Analysis writing and presentation of results.
- Administrative and laboratory management duties.
Labour conditions:
- Fulltime position: 40h/week
- Starting date: February 2025
- Gross annual salary: 18.18041 euros (Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Openended contract linked to the project SmarTheC (February 2025December 2027)
