About the Client
At Winid we are looking for a Category Buyer for a leading European pharmaceutical company specializing in the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders. With a direct presence in 19 countries and plans for further geographic expansion the company aims to solidify its position as a European leader in CNS treatments. This position is based in Barcelona and follows a hybrid work model.
Your Mission
You will assist the Category Manager in building category strategies and implementing productivity projects while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives. Your role will focus on providing value through improved spend management and cost optimization by leveraging data insights and tools as well as optimizing the use of information by developing modifying and administering databases to ensure the efficient storage and retrieval of critical data.
Your Major Accountabilities
- Collaborate with the Category Manager to manage assigned purchasing categories ensuring stakeholders needs are met by negotiating and securing optimal conditions with suppliers in terms of price quality and service.
- Bring new and sustainable solutions such as carbon footprint reduction and innovative ideas to the assigned categories.
- Continuously study the market suppliers and competitors to propose alternative solutions optimize pricing and identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Support the achievement of the annual objectives of the Purchasing Department focusing on cost reduction specification improvement innovation and efficiency.
- Manage the supplier database by category aiming to reduce administrative workload while optimizing supplier registration categorization and approval processes.
- Drive the continuous improvement of SAP data and processes.
- Collect analyze and interpret purchasing data to support strategic decisionmaking and coordinate the annual spend analysis report for relevant categories.
What We Are Looking For
- A degree in Engineering or a Technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Buyer in the packaging industry preferably in multinational companies.
- Strong problemsolving analytical thinking and initiative capabilities.
- Proficiency in tools such as SAP Power BI and Microsoft Office.
- Availability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
