As a software engineer at lastminute.com you will work in our Product Engineering team and directly impact the lives of a global population of travellers. You will be involved in building developing and maintaining our own scalable and resilient platforms to support an evergrowing number of customers. Qualifications :
What your impact will be:
Coding new features fixing bugs and optimising code
Working with the Team to break down User Stories into tasks that can be worked on
Analysing performance metrics and logs using monitoring tools
Updating technical documentation
Collaborating with designers testers product owners and other developers
Conducting and participating in code reviews
Evolving and maintaining our websites
Performance optimisations
Technical reviews
Your expertise:
Proficiency in:
JavaScript (ES6)
HTML5
CSS3.
Experience with:
TypeScript
Next.js
Node.js and the NPM ecosystem
Testing frameworks especially Jest.
Deep understanding of React.js including its core principles such as Hooks and state management.
Git gitflow and version control best practices.
Communicative English
Nonessential Skills That Will Be A Plus:
Practical knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
Knowledge of CSSinJS libraries or frameworks.
Understanding of Next.js serverside rendering (SSR) static site generation (SSG) and API routes.
Familiarity with testing tools like React Testing Library Playwright or Cypress.
Browser Server and CDN Caching Techniques.
