We are seeking a confident playful and energetic liveout au pair to join a family and support a wonderful autistic 4yearold boy with high support needs.
The ideal candidate should be kind patient and compassionate. They should enjoy engaging in educational play floortime as well as outdoor activities like swimming and walks within the local area. They should love finding fun ways to connect with and stimulate his growing mind. Main Purpose of the job:
To be a helping hand for his unique and specific support needs creating childspecific playbased learning opportunities and giving him the necessary guidance and support to thrive. A special interest and passion in neurodiversity and being a secure longterm source of support are of the utmost importance.
The candidate will be trained by the NDC Facilitation Academy and thereafter receive personalised support from a registered psychological professional for up to 46 weeks working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team based at the Neurodiversity Centre.
Job Objectives:
Becoming a core member of the multidisciplinary team to support their individual needs if and when needed.
Providing companionship and emotional support for them at home.
Support and scaffolding for their regulation needs (lessening any uncertainty and anxiety).
To carry out duties such as individualised lesson planning taking him on outings and appointments facilitating development through play and providing toileting support.
General Requirements:
A valid driver s license and reliable car Essential.
Fluent in English Essential.
JobRelated work experience:
Previous experience in a role supporting neurodivergent children Essential.
Previous experience working with younger children under 5 years old Essential.
Previous experience in teaching/tutoring Essential.
JobRelated Knowledge:
Familiarity with low arousal childled neuroaffirming approach Essential.
Familiarity and knowledge of demand avoidance in children Essential.
Familiarity and knowledge of attention difficulties and hyperactivity in children Essential.
JobRelated Skills:
Able to assist with planning and implementing activities with him and assist with school projects using creative and flexible approaches to teaching and learning according to his learning profile.
Ability to minimise stress and anxiety by utilising a low arousal approach Essential.
Strong verbal communication skills with children and parents Essential.
Organisational skills i.e. ability to implement structure strong time management imperative Essential.

Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 12:00
Salary Range:
R9 000 R12 000 per month (depending on previous experience and qualifications)
