Position: Assistant Vice President Life Sciences
Reports To: Vice President Regional Marine Operations

Overview
This senior leadership role oversees a division dedicated to the care and welfare of aquatic life and the operational excellence of a largescale marine facility. Leading a team of 300 individuals with 8 direct reports the AVP will focus on ensuring animal health facility operations and contributing to global conservation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee animal care by establishing and implementing welfare protocols monitoring health and coordinating veterinary support.
- Ensure the upkeep and regulatory compliance of animal habitats visitor areas and facility infrastructure.
- Collaborate with research professionals to design and execute projects related to species preservation and ecological sustainability.
- Manage adherence to local and international regulations for marine zoological operations.
- Build relationships with government agencies community organizations and industry stakeholders to promote conservation efforts.
- Represent the organization in external forums and regulatory discussions.
- Develop contingency plans for emergencies safeguarding the welfare of animals staff and visitors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marine biology zoology wildlife management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience including 8 years in leadership roles.
- Strong expertise in zoological operations including animal care welfare and conservation principles.
- Proven experience in strategic planning resource allocation and team management.
- Knowledge of behavioral management enrichment techniques veterinary care and animal training.
- Familiarity with regulations and best practices governing animal welfare and environmental conservation.
- Exceptional communication and crisis management skills with a proven ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
