Job Title: Application Engineer
Location: Mundelein IL (Onsite)
Type: FullTime (Direct Hire)

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Engineer to join our CNC manufacturing team in Lake County IL. This role focuses on ensuring the proper functioning installation and troubleshooting of CNC tool and cutter grinding machines with a specific focus on Straustak machines and Numroto software. If you are a handson problemsolver with strong technical expertise we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field service at customer facilities to maintain and troubleshoot CNC tool and cutter grinding machines.
  • Work on Straustak machines and utilize Numroto software for machine operations and troubleshooting.
  • Deliver technical support to customers onsite by phone and via email.
  • Conduct machine installations and ensure proper setup at customer locations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems both onsite and remotely.
  • Travel up to 50% within the USA Canada and Mexico to meet customer needs.
  • Read and interpret mechanical electrical and technical drawings for machine maintenance and repair.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of technical field service experience with CNC grinding machinery.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with Numroto software and experience with Straustak machines.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and handson experience.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
    • Basic understanding of electrical and fluid power circuits is preferred.

  • Adaptability to travel and work in dynamic environments.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with potential travel outside work hours.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel within the USA Canada and Mexico.
