Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: Buffalo NY Area
Overview: Join an industryleading Buffalo area manufacturing company with over 40 years of excellence! We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic Research & Development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects collaborate closely with engineering and contribute to the design and development of mechanical parts and assemblies through detailed documentation and prototyping.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks (experience with Fusion 360 or Inventor also acceptable).
Assign materials part numbers and hardware in models ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with the engineering team to implement design changes and maintain a detailed change log.
Assist with prototype assembly including developing exploded views to document assembly steps.
Work independently on small projects demonstrating initiative and problemsolving skills.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience with SolidWorks Fusion 360 Inventor or similar CAD software.
Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in hardware hand tools and measuring instruments.
Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting technical documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel etc.).
Excellent time management and multitasking abilities with flexibility to adapt in a fastpaced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally and ethically with vendors coworkers and customers.
Highly organized proactive and detailoriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or related field.
Experience working in a manufacturing or R&D environment.
ERP software experience.
