The Manager Rehabilitation Services (RS) reflects the mission vision and values of NM adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies procedures guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
This position is an experienced licensed physical therapist occupational therapist or speech pathologist who complies with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Practice as outlined by their professional organization and by the state of Illinois. The Manager Rehabilitation Services collaborates with the hospital physician group and RS leadership to advance quality strategies ensure a professional work environment facilitate timeliness of services and enhance patient satisfaction.
The Manager is responsible for fiscal human resource and quality outcomes for their defined service area or unit. The Manager places the needs of the patient and other customers as top priority and demonstrates the skills necessary to meet and exceed expectations. The Manager focuses others on a clearly defined clearly communicated vision and engages individuals and groups to achieve that vision. The Manager identifies and develops organizational talent and embraces continuous learning of self and others.
Responsibilities:

- Provides clinical staff with an environment that supports their professional practice health and wellbeing.
- Coaches mentors and develops staff in their professional practice.
- Advances professional practice through education and certification.
- In partnership with clinic Lead promotes development of staff by creating individualized development plans.
- Partners with other health professionals and leadership in supporting the patient experience.
- Partners with clinic Lead to schedule staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records and completes accurate payroll.
- Serves as a clinical expert for RS and is accountable for the implementation evidencebased practice.
- Advances patient care through the implementation of evidencebased practice
- Collaborates with medical/clinical leadership in care coordination.
- Ensures sustained Control phase of DMAIC for all process improvement initiatives.
- Designs and implements clinical protocols and quality improvements.
- Encourages mentors and coaches staff in advancing innovation through research and evidence.
- Attracts develops and retains exceptional care givers and provides those care givers with an environment that fosters excellence through continuous learning.
- Collaborates with Human Resources and other managers to ensure appropriate staffing.
- Facilitates interview process and onboarding of new staff.
- Advances innovative retention strategies for staff.
- Collaborates with Director to have accountability for annual employee engagement results and action plans.
- Manages the annual performance evaluation process in their areas of accountability.
- Manages the disciplinary process as appropriate and following NM HR policy.
- Customer Focus:
- Proficiently uses NM Patient Engagement tools and resources to actively seek methods of concurrent and retrospective feedback from customers.
- Listens to customer feedback and implements solutions and/or interventions as appropriate.
- Creative Leadership:
- Translates organizational vision into a unit or service area vision that engages staff in contributing to and achieving that vision.
- Coaching and Development:
- Provides daily justintime feedback to improve performance and selfesteem of staff.
- Uses NM HR tools to consistently track coaching discussions and actual performance of associates to ensure accountability.
- Seeks ways to match staff members talents and career interests with organizational opportunities.
- Business Operations:
- Reviews revises and enforces policies and procedures.
- Monitors clinical services regarding outcomes service provision referral patterns and potential for new growth.
- Tracks financial performance of area(s) of responsibility; makes recommendations based upon financial records.
- Manages department specific dashboards in support of the RS annual goals.
- Partners with Regional Director to prepare budgets.
- Uses NM tools to track and trend unusual occurrence reports.
- Continuous Learning:
- Continually examines ways to improve business relationships with customers suppliers community etc.
- Seeks and is open to innovative ideas from a wide range of sources; encourages others to share knowledge and best practices.
- Partners with NM RS Educator Resources to coordinate educational projects and programs for the community physicians and staff.
- Leads/assists departmental and/or hospitalwide project teams.
- Partners with NM marketing and physician liaisons to develop NM RS marketing materials and opportunities; assists with development of new business contacts.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent; Minimum of 5 years healthcare experience and minimum of 1 year of leadership experience
- Must demonstrate broad and thorough knowledge of the theories principles and practices in a professional discipline specialized or occupational field.
- At least 5 years as physical occupational or speech therapist with progressive leadership/management experience
- Physical Therapist Occupational Therapist Speech Language Pathologist; licensed in the State of Illinois by the Illinois State Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Preferred:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in PT OT or SLP; or business or healthcare related Masters degree (MBA MHA MPH etc.)
