Job Description

Role: Cerner Trainer Healthcare Projects
Rates: Up to $80.00 p/h INC.
Contract length: Up to 2 years in total duration

We have a great new opportunity to support one of our Healthcare clients in a contract capacity!

Key Requirements:

  • Trainers must be available to work exclusively within Nova Scotia starting April 28 2025.
  • A valid drivers license is required due to the extensive travel involved.
  • Travel costs will be negotiated separately with allinclusive per diem rates for the successful training partner(s).

Required Qualifications and Experience

  1. Education and Certifications
    • Minimum Bachelors degree in a clinical or healthrelated discipline (or equivalent experience in health informatics).
    • Cerner certification in at least one clinical stream.
  2. Experience
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant clinical or healthrelated field.
    • Proficient knowledge of the Canadian healthcare industry with familiarity in acute care ambulatory administrative and communitybased programs.
    • At least one full Canadian CIS implementation experience (additional experience on multiple Canadian projects is an asset).
    • Minimum of 3 years of training experience delivering targeted training in healthcare environments.
  3. Skills
    • Demonstrated understanding and application of adult learning theory.
    • Experience in designing and delivering training on healthcare information systems and terminology (preferably in Cerner/Oracle Health solutions).
    • Ability to deliver training across multiple clinical and nonclinical streams is an asset.

Core Competencies and Skills

All candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Cerner Expertise: Deep knowledge of Cerner/Oracle Health solutions and successful completion of training programs for Canadian healthcare clients.
  • Training Expertise: Proven ability to deliver learnercentric training that enables participants to develop both competence and confidence in their skills.
  • Effective Communication: Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to both clinical and business staff.
  • Evidencebased Training: Demonstrated ability to link training content to relevant workflows and evidencebased practices.
  • Digital Health Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare technology best practices software applications and informatics. Certifications such as HIMSS or CPHIMSCA are an asset.
  • Adult Learning Methodologies: Proven experience in applying adult learning theory and methodologies in a healthcare setting.
  • ProblemSolving: Ability to address and solve complex issues propose innovative solutions and apply clinical best practices.
  • Documentation: Experience creating comprehensive summary documentation based on training evaluation and analysis.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience working collaboratively with diverse teams to address complex issues.
  • Healthcare Transformation: Experience in healthcare transformation including providing scheduled and JustinTime training to clinical and nonclinical endusers.
  • Organization and Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Time Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Mentorship: Ability to mentor less experienced trainers fostering a collaborative and supportive training environment.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Nova Scotia to deliver local training sessions.

Additional Information

  • Trainers will be expected to work flexible hours including weekends and adapt to various shift schedules.
  • Successful candidates will be part of a dynamic and supportive team playing a key role in the successful implementation of Cerner/Oracle Health solutions.
