Job Description

We are looking for an experienced professional and enthusiastic Duty Manager to lead the Front Office team on night shift at our Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort on a full time basis. This role will work x4 10hr shifts per week. 

The moment a guest steps into our hotel you will make them feel at home with your welcoming and warm presence. You have the important job of leading your team and driving exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing an outstanding guest welcoming experience by demonstrating a commitment to service excellence and maintaining the front office and reception operational standards.
  • Meeting guests and customers when they arrive and ensure they are settled in their rooms
  • Maintaining professional open and honest communication to assist guests and make accurate bookings
  • Guide & support the team in providing outstanding guest welcoming and experiences.
  • Ensuring that all daily tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Resolve & respond to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate guest accounts and assist with daily reporting
  • Effectively manage team roster to meet budgets
  • Support Hotel Manager with recruitment

Approved Sponsor: Minor Hotels Australasia Limited (previously known as Oaks Hotels & Resorts Limited)

Approx annual salary: $58616.40 NZD (excluding KiwiSaver)

Hourly rate: $28.18 NSD per hour (excluding KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account.

Expected hours: 40 hours per week

Job Title: Duty Manager

Employment Status: Full Time Permanent

Commencement Date: To be confirmed

Reporting to: Front Office Manager or General Manager

Breaks: Employees are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks based on the number of hours worked. Breaks will be taken at times agreed to by the employer and employee or when the law says breaks must be taken. Leave Entitlements: As per Employment New Zealand Leave and holidays Employment New Zealand and Holidays Act 2003.

Period of Notice: Four weeks


Qualifications :

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 2 years experience at a supervisor level within a Hotel environment
  • Exceptional people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and an unwavering positive attitude.
  • Understanding of trust accounting
  • A passion for delivering exceptional proactive customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts including night shift weekends and public holidays if required.
