Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs

We are seeking a dedicated and certified Special Education Teacher to join our team in Detroit MI. This is an excellent opportunity to empower students and help them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Job Overview:

Participate in IEP meetings and coordinate with other service providers.
Regularly assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet IEP goals.
Create a structured safe and nurturing classroom environment that fosters learning and independence.
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for early childhood students with special needs.
Provide instruction in both individual and group settings to meet the developmental needs of children in grades K12.
Collaborate with families paraprofessionals therapists and other educators to support each child s goals and progress.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a Bachelor s or Master s degree in Special Education or a related field and possess a valid Michigan state teaching certification in K12 Special Education. A strong understanding of childhood development and behavior management strategies is essential for success in this role. While prior experience working with children with disabilities in a school setting is preferred exceptional communication and collaboration skills are crucial to effectively engage with families and team members to support student success
