Job Description

3 months contract with a Local Authority

Job Purpose

  • This position involves providing a comprehensive service to enable the Local Authority (LA) fulfil its statutory duties in relation to the assessment of pupils with special educational needs by ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of statutory procedures and the appropriate placement and ongoing provision arrangements for Enfield residing pupils both inside and outside the LA area.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • To support the raising of standards and narrowing of identified achievement gaps through the implementation of appropriate curriculum approaches to learning and teaching with a focus on children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Undertake planning preparation reporting and follow up work as part of schoolbased consultancy to schools in Enfield in line with schools and LA plans.
  • Organise and provide training to upskill Enfield School staff in meeting a broad range of SEND.

Essential Experience Required

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of SEN Casework and EHC Plan writing for a Local Authority is essential the candidate will need to have extensive experience working on a post 14 team is essential.
  • Experience in Local Authority SEN to have been in the last 2 years is essential.
  • Experience of The Children and Families Act 2014 SEND Code of Practice 2015 & SEND Regulations 2014 is essential.

Essential Qualification Required

  • General education qualification is essential.

Additional information to note

  • Working hours: 35 hours per week.
  • This is a hybrid role. Working 1/2 days per week in the office.

To be clear we are looking for a marketing professional with experience and knowledge of children s services rather than a recruiter (as in someone that fills jobs) - though many of the skills needed in recruitment will be useful as the postholder will be speaking to potential foster carers and answering enquiries. Overall purpose/aim of the postholder will be to plan and coordinate marketing, promotional and recruitment campaigns and other activities that lead to the successful recruitment of foster carers within LB Newham.
