The police officers responsibilities are to preserve public peace protect life and property prevent crime arrest violators and use proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances within the boundaries of the warm Springs Reservation. Provide deterrence detection and investigation of crimes and apprehension of criminal suspects. Patrol assigned areas to prevent crime and enforce Federal State and Tribal laws and regulations. Respond to radio messages telephone instructions and citizen requests for assistance at scenes of disorder or crime. Administer first aid as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Applicant must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and must pass ORPAT and POST tests. Pass DPSST physical standards and attend DPSST academy and complete successfully within one year of hire. Physical exam psychological exam and indepth background reference character and financial investigation are required per 101630 (Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act). Must submit to a preemployment drug and alcohol screening. Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Oregon Drivers License. Applicant must have no felonies domestic violence convictions and no misdemeanor convictions within one year of employment.
