Job Description

We are currently looking for a Civil and Structure Supervisor to support one of our client on a Carbon Capture EPC project in Rotterdam.

On a daily basis the Civil and Structure Supervisor will reports directly to the site manager. The main duties are the following:
  • Approve the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Method Statements related to civil and structural activities.
  • Supervise all piling civil underground roads & paving and building erection works in accordance with the Site Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
  • Ensure that the work performed complies with the project drawings and company quality standards.
  • Familiarize and apply project drawings and company specifications to execute the Scope of Work.
  • Anticipate upcoming works based on the approved subcontractor schedule in collaboration with the Construction Manager. Study project drawings in advance clarify potential issues with the Project Engineer and ensure subcontractors are prepared to perform their tasks (critical materials available specialized companies/resources mobilized Method Statements issued and approved etc.).
  • Ensure that freeissued items required for the Scope of Work are delivered on time and coordinate with the Material Manager.
  • Ensure that AS BUILT drawings are properly issued and updated by the subcontractor on a weekly basis.
  • Actively contribute to safety by reporting hazardous situations or nonconformities.
  • Stop the work when safety or quality issues are identified until corrective actions are implemented.
  • Perform all required site inspections as per the ITP with the support of the site QA/QC team when needed.
  • Keep the project document set (including drawings) updated with the latest revisions (paper copies).
  • Lead the subcontractors weekly meetings and issue Minutes of Meeting.
  • Follow up on the detailed schedule with subcontractors report any deviations weekly to the Site Manager and establish an action plan with subcontractors to recover delays.
  • Open NCRs related to the Scope of Work propose solutions and track them until they are closed informing the QA/QC Manager.
  • Perform weekly reviews of the quality files compiled by the subcontractors and notify the QA/QC Manager in case of major deviations.
  • Review comment and support the QA/QC Manager in approving the ITP. Update and sign the ITP based on inspections performed.
  • Validate weekly progress of the Scope of Work by providing feedback to the Site Manager.
  • Support the Site Manager in tracking the installed quantities across all Scope of Work.
  • Ensure that quantities are tracked and that the remeasurement of the scope of work is performed.
  • Lead toolbox talks with the subcontractor 2 to 3 times a week on specific safety or technical issues with the support of the HSE Manager for safety toolbox talks and the Site Manager for technical toolbox talks.
  • Provide the Site Manager and Project Engineer with a daily report of activities encountered issues and actions to be taken.


Requirements

  • From a background of civil engineering you ideally benefit from successful experience of at least 10 years as a Civil work supervisor with as well experience as steel structure supervisor.
  • An experience of design will be beneficial as well.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch regulation in terms of civil work is required.
  • N1 / N2 or VCA is required
  • Fluent Dutch and English
