Role: Lower Primary Teacher (Grade 13)

Key Responsibilities
- Createasafe respectful and inclusive learning environment maintaining a tidy and orderly classroom
- Setanduphold behavioral expectations in the classroom managing student behavior using positive discipline strategies
- Design effective lesson plans and projects that meet learning objectives aligned to curriculum standards and School approach
- Deliver engaging instruction using a variety of visual/audio strategies to facilitate learning accommodating the diverse needs of learners and different learning styles
- Deliver individualized instruction and remediation for students in need
- Develop teaching aids and learning materials to meet the learning styles and interests of learners
- Develop assessments administer and grade assessments aimed at measuring learning progress
- Make appropriate use of assessment data provide feedback and make adjustments for improvement in teaching and learning
- Maintain accurate records of students attendance behavior performance and records of critical incidents
- Support students to explore career pathways to discover and nurture their talents and learning opportunities
- Plan and execute educational inclass and outdoor activities and events including cocurricular activities
- Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers through the established school communication channels; proactively engaging parental participation in learning
- Observe and understand students behavior and report suspicions of violence neglect or any form of abuse
- Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with parents students and other stakeholders
- Continuously develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge through selfdirected learning and school professional development activities
Requirements
- Over four years of experience in a Kenyan organization within a childfocused communitybased organization nongovernmental organization or school setting instructing English Creative Arts Kiswahili and Mathematics for students in Grades one (1) to three (3).
- Holder of a Bachelors degree a Diploma in Teacher Education OR a Diploma in ECDE ( Applicants MUSTbeTSCRegistered)
- Reliable excellent work ethic and time management
- Strong classroom management skills
- Strong subject expertise in at least three learning areas
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills of the CBC delivery approach and other best teaching practices
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in ICT and integration in teaching and learning
- Firm commitment to safeguarding and child protection
- Skills and flexibility to work with a variety of students across grades and ability levels
- Active listening skills understanding and adapting to students various learning needs
- Strongwritten and spoken communication and oral presentation skills
- Leadership skills; problemsolving adapting to positive change commitment to excellence and best practice
- Knowledge of CPRis an added advantage.
