Role Overview:
As part of our growth we are seeking a Planning Engineer to join our teams working on the HPC or SZC nuclear project. Supporting the Project Managers your daily responsibilities will include creating and managing project schedules monitoring progress and ensuring alignment with the projects Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
Key Responsibilities:
Development and Maintenance of Project Schedules:
- Create the macroschedule and detailed project schedule in line with existing standards and aligned with the project WBS.
- Draft the hypothesis note associated with the initial schedule creation.
- Build a comprehensive resourceloaded federated schedule based on input data.
Critical Path Analysis:
- Identify the projects critical and subcritical paths.
- Monitor and report changes to the critical path as the project progresses.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
- Prepare for and participate in project steering meetings and visual management sessions organised by the Project Manager (PM).
- Gather input data for schedule updates highlighting any difficulties in obtaining required information to the PM.
- Support the PM in preparing project progress presentations related to scheduling.
Schedule Updates and Coordination:
- Regularly update the schedule in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Update the hypothesis note to reflect changes in the schedule.
- Highlight potential schedule risks and deviations to project stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6 MS Project or similar).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies including WBS development.
- Experience with critical path and resource management analysis.
- Familiarity with visual management tools and techniques.
Personal Qualities:
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
- Attention to detail and problemsolving mindset.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Project Management or a related field.
- Prior experience as a Planning Engineer or in a similar role ideally in industrial project
