Job Description

Job Overview

Our Client is in the food and beverage sector. They are looking to hire a Restaurant Operations officer in Lagos. The ideal candidate will manage and organize daily restaurant operations with a goal of controlling costs and providing a high quality experience to customers. Areas of operation range from personnel management waiting staff coordination and inventory management.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily restaurant operations.

  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.

  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.

  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors.

  • Organize and supervise shifts.

  • Ensure all endofday cash outs are correctly completed.

  • Coordinate daily frontandbackofhouse restaurant operations.

  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to stakeholders to improve productivity and efficiency.

  • Estimate future needs for consumables kitchen utensils and cleaning products.

  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

  • Manage the restaurant s good image and suggest ways to improve it.

  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.

  • Create detailed reports on weekly monthly and annual revenues and expenses.

  • Promote the brand in the local community through wordofmouth and restaurant events.

  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads).

  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.

  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.

  • Hire train and supervise restaurant employees.

  • Onboard new employees thoroughly in line with the onboarding agenda.

  • Create a staff schedule to ensure appropriate staffing.

  • Track stock levels of food supplies and equipment forecast needs and oversee ordering as necessary.

  • Take ownership of budgets and cost control methods to minimize expenses.

  • Address customer needs comments and complaints.

  • Adhere to and enforce employee compliance with health safety and sanitation standards.

  • Ensure all employees are working within outlined operating standards.

  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and dues paid as required.

  • Provide reports on restaurant activities financial performance inventory and personnel.


Requirements:
  • Degree in Food Science Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Restaurant Operations Officer or in a similar role within the food service industry preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Working knowledge of a restaurant.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Leadership skills.
