About the Role
This charity hospital in Southampton is dedicated to providing expert veterinary care to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford treatment for their pets. The work carried out by the team truly matters making a significant difference in the lives of pets and their owners.
The hospital is looking for RCVSregistered veterinary surgeons who are passionate about learning and excited by a variety of interesting cases. Candidates should be comfortable with sole charge responsibilities performing routine surgeries and conducting basic case workups. Strong communication skills are essential as well as a willingness to collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues and clients. Leading by example and sharing expertise will be key to this role. A passion for championing the charitys mission and maintaining a focus on resources and efficiency will be valued.
About the Hospital
This charity hospital in Southampton has long been an integral part of the community providing critical support for pets and their owners in need. The team manages a busy and diverse caseload from routine vaccinations to emergency care. To ensure variety the shift structure is designed to avoid monotony with one late shift from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM and one early shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM each week.
Outofhours coverage is provided by Vets Now allowing staff to focus on monitoring stable patients in the hospital. The majority of the team works parttime and weekend duties are shared on a 1:8 rotation providing ample time off including lieu time at the end of the following week. Enhanced pay is also offered for weekend work.
